»Entangled Differences«Social categories such as gender, ethnicity, status, and age do not exist in isolation, but rather are always interconnected. To analyze these categories and the relationships between them the concept of intersectionality has been developed in the social sciences. The present volume seeks to apply this approach to Early Modern history. From a comparative perspective the case studies collected here examine historically specific inequalities as well as changes within categories and their intersections.
