»Employment histories of women and men with low pensions in Germany«On the basis of rich administrative data from the German pension insurance, the study examines employment histories which, despite long periods of insurance, result in low pensions. The study focusses on labour market risks as well as pension regulations. The results contribute to the discussion about the performance of the pension insurance in Germany and point to possible courses of action to limit the occurrence of low pensions.
