»The Legal Maning of the Phrase >intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such< in Art. 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide«The thesis illustrates the current state of jurisdiction in regard to the legal interpretation of the concept of groups and subgroups protected by Art. II of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide. Further, it deals with the interpretation of the »special intent« to commit genocide, which raises the question whether the perpetrator's motive beyond the intent to destroy can be regarded as an element of this so called »crime of crimes«.
