Starting from the problem of »own shares«, the work deals with the basics of German personal partnership law. The author comes to the conclusion that these require readjustment. A modern registration of German personal partnership law requires a distinction to be made between »simple partnerships« and »partnerships carrying companies« which have overcome the traditional theories. The latter opened up a dogmatic scope for own shares.
