Erscheinungsformen H fischer Kultur Und Ihre Tr ger Im Mittelalter

Bok av Eckart Conrad Lutz
Among the testimonies of medieval courtly culture that have come down to us, mural art is the only form to be located precisely where it was conceived, realized, and needed. At the very least, we know the sites where such art materialized. Accordingly, these testimonies provide a direct link to the proponents of that culture and enable us to include their life circumstances in the interpretation of their cultural ambitions. To this extent, the articles in this collection can justly claim to stand as interdisciplinary studies contributing to the reconstruction of the information required for a proper understanding of medieval literature. They document the first of two colloquia organized in the framework of the »Literature and Mural Art« project conducted by the Institute of Medieval Studies of the University of Freiburg (Switzerland). The second is scheduled to take place from 29 August to 1 September 2001 in Burgdorf, under the title »Literature and Mural Art II: Convention and Conversation«.
