Rolf Kießling describes and analyzes the history of the regions of Franconia, Swabia, and Old Bavaria in a study that extends from the Middle Ages to the Shoah and beyond. Kießling does not present Jewish history as a mere prelude Nazism, but instead considers diverse developments ranging from persecution to acceptance.
