Bronzemuenzen Aus Der Zeit Mithradates' VI. Im Museum Von Samsun: Materialien Zur Historischen Geographie Und Zu Verwandten Wissenschaften

Bok av Eckart Olshausen
The catalog covers 5981 bronze coins from the Samsun museum dating from the rule of Pontus Mithridates VI. (120-63 BC). They were compiled on the basis of measurements and photographic images taken in 1994, of which the negatives are kept in the Historical Institute of the University of Stuttgart. The catalog combines elements of a stock and type catalog. Particular attention is paid to the various inconclusively interpreted cadency on the coins, all of which have been compiled in a special registry. Even though they were acquired by the Samsun Museum in several large installments, they are not part of hoard finding. The circumstances of the findings are unknown, although the discovery region can be attributed roughly to northern Anatolia. German text.
