The Institute of Contemporary History Munich-Berlin presents an edition of 170 previously unpublished documents from the Federal Foreign Office and the GDR Foreign Ministry, most of them from the Political Archive of the Federal Foreign Office. These documents give a vivid picture of the dramatic events: from the refugee crisis in the West German embassies in the summer of 1989 to unification in autumn 1990.
