Case study : A Spanish commented translation of Virginia Woolf's To the lighthouse: Translation Quality Assessment

Upon this comparative translation, we have exhaustively analyzed our work by systematizing the most suitable criteria for evaluation purposes, which we may encounter in recent Translation Quality Assessment studies. This self-analysis would be worth being considered by not only translators and interpreters but also by Comparative Literature specialists due to its high usefulness in literature, as well as those focusing on cultural studies. The results of the proposed method of analysis would also possess a significant pedagogic application for it deters students of Translation Studies from making future mistakes on future translation assignments along with fostering their awareness toward the cognitive process of translating. - A continuacin presentamos una traduccin del segundo captulo de To the lighthouse de Virginia Woolf. A partir de esta traduccin, hemos analizado de forma exhaustiva nuestro trabajo sistematizando los criterios ms adecuados con la consecucin en los estudios de evaluacin de calidad de traducciones ms recientes. Este autoanlisis puede ser aplicado por traductores e intrpretes as como para estudiosos de Literatura Comparada o especialistas de estudios culturales. Los resultados de este mtodo de anlisis tambin cuenta con cierto valor pedaggico ya que permite a los estudiantes de Traduccin e Interpretacin que no cometan los mismos errores en el futuro y profundizar en la conciencia de que la traduccin es un proceso cognitivo complejo.
