Bok av Alok Chandra Samal
Groundwater arsenic and its entry into the human food chain cause a great threat to human health through their consumption in Gangetic delta of West Bengal, India. The review part focused on the arsenic chemistry, source, occurrence, metabolism & toxic effect, global arsenic scenario, arsenic flow in water-soil-plant & microbial system. The experimental part contains the details methodology and study of arsenic flow in crop ecosystem in highly groundwater arsenic affected areas of West Bengal, India and its potential health risk to human through food chain. The findings are thoroughly discussed and concluding with some remedial measures.
