Remineralizing Agents and Their Effect on Freshly Bleached Teeth : A Spectrophotometric Study

Bok av Raghuwar Dayal Singh
Looking good and having beautiful teeth with radiating smile has always been the subjects primary concern. There are numerous bleaching products and techniques that can be use successfully to lighten teeth. Teeth when subjected to bleaching bring about the desiccation of the enamel, making it more susceptible to stain absorption. Freshly bleached teeth have demineralized surface, which are prone to greater absorption of stain when exposed to tea, coffee, cola and other foods with colouring agents. If precautions are taken immediately after bleaching and demineralized tooth surface is allowed to remineralized before getting exposed to stained foods, there would be reduction in stain absorption, and hence decreased tooth discolouration. This book provide an in-depth knowledge of remineralizing agents such as fluoride and milk protein Casein (CPP-ACP) and their efficacy to prevent stain absorption on freshly bleached tooth surface.
