Placenta In Pre-Eclampsia And Eclampsia : A morphological study and role of NK cells

Placenta has long been a neglected organ as far as its histopathology is concerned.This study is a unique attempt to observe the morphological features of placenta in preeclampsia and eclampsia and compare them to normal placentae. A total of 150 placentae, out of which 50 are of eclamptic patients, have been studied in detail to reveal key morphological features which can distinguish between a normal and diseased placenta.These features form the basis of a medical enigma which still has no cure.
