Bok av Aleksander Maksimczuk
Polish Eastern border is also the external border of the European Union. Borders with Russia, Belarus and Ukraine are crucial, for the EU, for reasons of safety, economic and social. A characteristic feature for Podlaskie voivodship is its peripherality. Due to the immediate vicinity of the EU and the three countries from the Eastern Europe there is a need to strengthen and build programs to promote cross-border and interregional co-operation. It's implemented in various forms, based on local and regional natural resources (environment) and activities related to the maintenance and protection of the border. Appropriate use of the opportunity can create activation of Polish border regions through the development of cross-border cooperation and to make the "friendly border".
