The four synthetic compounds named Ortho-amino aniline, 2-bromo propyl amine hydrobromide, 3-bromopopyl ammonium bromide and Benzimidazole-2-thiol were evaluated for their pharmacological activity. Evaluation of anti-oxidant activity was done by DPPH free radical scavenging activity. In this investigation, the compound ortho amino aniline showed the highest free radical scavenging activity with IC50 value 0.85g/ml. At the same time Benzimadazole-2-Thiol also showed strong antioxidant potential having IC50 value 4.18g/ml. The cyto-toxic activity was evaluated using Brine shrimp lethality bio-assay. Among the supplied compounds only ortho amino aniline and bennzimidazole-2-thiol showed mild cyto-toxic activity compared to the positive standard Vincristine sulfate. The analgesic activity was evaluated using acetic acid induced writhing method. The compounds Benzimidazole-2-thiol and 3-bromopopyl ammonium bromide at a dose of 50 mg/kg showed significant analgesic activity with 37.85% and 42.85% inhibition of writhing. 3-bromopopyl ammonium bromide and Benzimidazole-2-thiol showed mild hypnotic activity. None of the compounds exhibited anti-microbial or ani-pyretic activity.
