Multiculturalism And Immigrant Integration In Europe : Multiculturalism or New Notion of Integration?

Bok av Genc Deniz
During the 1970s and 1980s, Multiculturalism became a world trend and surrounded almost all Western states. Many of these states declared official multiculturalism and cherished their societies' multicultural character by the help of government policies. These multicultural policies targeted indigenous groups in US, Canada and Australia; while in Europe their addressees have become immigrants. In line with this, as an immigrant integration model, multiculturalism kept academics busy in the last decade. To make a better analysis, this study begins with a thorough examination of multiculturalism and it tries to understand whether it can be a feasible model for immigrant integration in Europe.
