Effects of Lazaroids on Intestinal Ischemia and Reperfusion Injury

Bok av Flessas Ioannis
The conflicting results of existing studies reflect differences among species, experimental design, evolving time that ischemia and reperfusion is induced, total or partial vascular occlusion, dosage of the lazaroid, and the exact period of time that the lazaroid is administered (preconditioning or not). All the available data suggest that this is the first study that performed in species such as pig. We investigated further the role of an antioxidant molecule U-74389G . In many emergency clinical situations, such as reperfusion of the intestine, the role of U-74389G could be or beneficial, as well as in solutions that preserve solid organs for transplantation or during reperfusion of them, after the completion of the vessels anastomosis .
