Bok av Bhalerao Rahul
The problem encountered after harvest in sapota are uneven ripening, weight and quality loss during storage, quick and over ripening and senescing of the edible ripe fruit. Extension of post harvest life of sapota fruit is one of the most difficult problem faced by the post harvest physiologist. A pre-harvest spray of calcium significantly reduce the post harvest rotting and enhances the storage life of sapota fruit by 2 to 3 days. Hence, it becomes necessary to find out some suitable pre-harvest treatments of calcium sources to extend the shelf life which reduce loss of sapota fruit after harvesting.
