Effect of Flyash Seed Pelleting on Growth and Yield of Mungbean : A new seed pelleting material for sustainable agriculture

Bok av Muthu Arjuna Samy Prakash
Flyash once considered as a waste material is now being utilized in agriculture and industries. Even though flyash is having many applications in agriculture i.e. soil application as fertilizer, carrier material for pesticide formulation, application of flyash as a seed pelleting material was not attempted. Fly ash contains all the elements as that of soil except organic carbon and nitrogen. Approximately on an average 95 to 99 % of fly ash consists of oxides of Si, Al, Fe & Ca and about 0.5 to 3.5 % consists of Na, P, K & S and remained ash with trace elements. Because of these advantages, fly ash can be used as pelleting material, additive & amendment material in agricultural applications. Hence experiments were conducted to study the effect of flyash as seed pelleting material and the results are discussed in this book.
