Preliminary Survey On Status Of Tiger, Co-Predators And Its Prey : In Kotagarh Wildlife Sanctuary, Odisha, India

The density of Tiger (Panthera tigris), Co-Predators and Prey species is estimated for the first time in Kotagarh Wildlife Sanctuary. The survey data was analyzed by Distance Ver. 6.0 Release2. Total 22 random sampling line transect and sign survey was carried out during survey having covered Core, Buffer and Transitional zone of the North, West and South part of Sanctuary. Barking deer, Chital, Common Langur,Rhesus macaque, Wild Pig, Sambar, Elephant, Jackal and Fox were encountered during survey period. Pug mark of Leopard and Tiger was found during field visit.
