Efficacy and Tolerability of Antihypertensives - A Comparative Study

Bok av Yasmeen Nazia
Hypertension is a common condition significantly associated with morbidity and mortality. Various groups of drugs exist in treatment of hypertension. The safety of drugs has been established, but the tolerability of combination therapy still poses a concern in long-term management of the disease and associated co-morbid conditions. An open label prospective study was designed to compare the efficacy and tolerability of four different classes of antihypertensive drugs in patients suffering from mild to moderate hypertension. Significant results were observed in controlling blood pressure, simultaneously increasing incidence of adverse events which is a great concern and needs more attention.
