Studies On The Leaves Of Sida Acuta Burm. F. (Family : Pharmacognostical,Phytochemical,Analytical & Pharmacological Studies

Sida acuta Burm.f. is an erect perennial herb or shrub, 1.5mt high belongs to the family Malvaceae. The different extracts at a dose of 500mg/kg body weight were studied for their antipyretic effect by yeast induced pyrexia method and found that acetone extract was showing maximum effect, using paracetamol as standard. The different extracts at a dose of 400mg/kg body weight were studied for their analgesic effect by tail immersion method and found that acetone and petroleum ether extracts was showing maximum effect, using diclofenac sodium as standard. The different extracts at a concentration of 1, 2.5 and 5% were studied for their anthelmintic effect and found that acetone and petroleum ether extracts was showing maximum effect amongst other extracts, using albendazole as standard. Pharmacognostical and phytochemical screening were done followed by chromatographic techniques.
