Wind Resistance of Mechanically Fastened Roofing Systems : Systems with AAC Panel Substrates

Bok av Bartko Michal
Recently, Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) substrate is becoming widely used as a substrate in a roofing industry because of its many advantages, such as easy in site processing, good thermal insulating properties and low cost. But, is the lower strength of AAC panel substrate sufficient when mechanically attached waterproofing system is applied to it? The standard design method, taking dynamic strength values of fasteners into consideration, does not exist, nor was the reliability experimentally investigated thus far. This book provides an experimental data analysis including the values of static, as well as dynamic strengths of fasteners applied to AAC panel substrate. The correlation coefficients were determined for the two strength values and the originally designed test method for mechanically attached roofing system testing, consisting of all system parts, is provided. The analysis should be useful to professionals in mechanical design of roofing systems, or anyone who may come to contact similar materials and problems.
