An Analysis of Interteaching in the Community College Classroom : An Analysis of Interteaching and Frequent Examinations in the Community College Classroom

Bok av Felderman Theresa
Interteaching is a teaching methodology, derived from earlier instructional formats rooted in behavioral psychology. Interteaching incorporates dyadic peer discussions, advanced completion of preparation guides, instructor's clarifying lectures focusing on difficult concepts from student written feedback, and a frequent exams component. Interteaching has shown to be an effective alternative to traditional lecture in the four-year university classroom, but interteaching and its components had not been explored in other settings, including the community college classroom. This research was comprised of two parts. Study 1 systematically replicated earlier research in a four-year university setting examining the effectiveness of interteaching compared to lecture in the community college classroom. Study 2 investigated interteaching's frequent exams component in the community college.
