Hepatitis B and Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome are serious diseases due to their poor prognosis, especially Hepatitis B as it is transmissible through saliva. ADA council on scientific affairs & ADA council on dental practice have stated that materials, impressions, casts and intraoral prosthesis should be cleaned and disinfected before being handled, adjusted or sent to a dental laboratory. Amongst all these, dental cast is transferred numerous times between the dental lab and dental office.
