Water and Dumpsites in Parts of Nasarawa and Benue States, Nigeria

Water and sediment discharges from Benue Brewery into River Benue were investigated for physicochemical and heavy metal contaminations. Samples from different points of discharge into the River and three different fish samples were analyzed using conventional methods in order to assess the level of the River contamination. Quality parameters for potability of some selected sachet water and toxicity of soil and plant samples at dumpsites in Keffi metropolis were examined using chemical and microbial indices. Water samples from river Uke, Antau Upper, Antau Lower, and Old Barracks in Karshi and Keffi Areas of Nasarawa State were assessed for physicochemical and heavy metals contents.
