Communal Range Management in Pakistan : Grazing Pattern & Utilization of Pothwar Rangeland, Pakistan and its Socio-economic Impacts on Local Communities

Bok av Azhar Sohaib
Arid and semi-arid rangelands are serving as the natural resource for the production of livestock. Sustainable grazing management or land resource use is a key issue of concern in most arid and semi-arid regions of the world as well as in Pakistan. This challenge is particularly formidable in arid rangeland environment because of inherent seasonal constraints, higher livestock densities and change in socio-economic conditions of pastoral communities. The study was conducted in Dhurnal rangeland in district Chakwal which is managed by Chakwal Range Management Forest Division. On the bases of conclusion were drawn and recommendations were made.
