Adoption of Sustainable Land Management Practices : A case of the upper Mara River Basin

Bok av Njuki Robinson
This book is about enhancing sustainable resource exploitation in the upper Mara River Basin, Kenya. It documents the results of an assessment of Sustainable Land Management Practices at the river basin. The basin is not only important to Kenyans but also citizens of other countries bordering Kenya as it is trans-boundary and supports many ecosystems and livelihoods of many people through economic activities such as forestry, agriculture and tourism. The book uses a social approach to analyze the land management practices that have been adopted by the people living in the river basin and factors that influence the adoption of these practices. The assessment recommends that inventions on institutional factors and socio-economic factors need to be made so as to enhance the conservation of this important resource.
