Automatic Power Distribution and Management : A successful research project executed by Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), IIUC

Bok av Ullah Aasim
The project is designed to operate an electrical power distribution substation feeder according to demand and supply .It overcomes the difficulties of switching the feeder ON/OFF manually and balance the power automatically through a common load bus and communication bus. Load shedding or feeder rotation, is an intentionally engineered electrical power shutdown where electricity delivery is stopped for non-overlapping periods of time over different parts of the distribution region. In a distribution system it needs to be precisely controlled according to demand and supply to minimize the load shedding for the user. In the last decade, powerful microprocessor-controlled protection, automation, PLC and communications devices have become available, which greatly simplify the task of automation and management of power systems. In addition to greatly enhanced features, these modern devices have made complete power management systems more reliable and economical than ever before.
