The green lacewing, Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) is a well established and efficient predator in pest management programmes. It has a wide range of prey with enhanced searching capacity and voracious feeding habit.It is active for throughout the year, feeding on various insect pest on different crops. It plays a prominent role in suppressing pest at early stages of cotton crops. It controls the pests of different crops like tomato, potato, cotton etc. and are widely recommended for biological control programmes against insect pest of cotton, sunflower, tobacco and ground nut.
