Dye Decolourization Potential of Dye Resistant Microbes

Textile-processing wastewaters, typically with higher content of dye which usually shows highly colored water and discharge in open water bodies, presents an aesthetic problem. As dyes are designed it is chemically and photolytically stable, they are highly persistent in natural environments. The release of dyes may therefore present an eco toxic hazard and introduces the potential danger of bio accumulation that may by transport through the food chain. These microbial strains were efficient dye resistant and had high dye decolorization potential, and could be exploited for the development and scaling up of large scale eco friendly dyestuff bioremediation process.
