Kushelo and Gadjo the Gypsy Woman's Curse and the White Man

Bok av Puskas-Bajko Albina
The `Gypsy` woman appears as a delicious `Other` in Western imagination, even more so in literature. Think about Carmen, Zemfira or Fedalma, attractive women without morals. Male characters are under their spell, as if possessed by a female demon. These women are 100% aware of their magical power and use it as a weapon, an act of defiance and challenge. Men cannot help falling in the trap and they give their whole existence up...for a woman who never asked for anything like this.
