Effect of Plant Spacing and Ga3 : On growth, flowering and yield of African marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) cultivars

Bok av Sahare Homraj
A field experiment was conducted to study the "Effect of plant spacing and GA3 on growth flowering and flower yield of African marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) cultivars". The experiment consisting of twenty four treatments of all the possible combinations of three varieties viz., Local Orange (V1), Pusa Narangi (V2), Pusa Basanti (V3) and two levels of spacing viz., 60 x 60 cm (S1) and 45 x 60 cm (S2) along with four levels of GA3 viz., control (G0), 100 ppm (G1), 200 ppm (G2) and 300 ppm (G3). Based on the results of one year experimentation, it seems to quite logical to conclude that the Pusa Narangi should be transplanted at 45 X 60 cm spacing along with 100 ppm GA3 sprayed on the crop for profitable cultivation of African marigold (Tagetes erecta L.).
