Assessment of Biomass and Carbon Stock in Plantations of Uttarakhand

This book is about biomass and carbon pool estimation of Tectona grandis and Ailanthus excelsa plantation ecosystems of Uttarakhand, describing the carbon stock of these plantations including main tree species, associate trees, understory, litter and soil. Biomass Expansion Factor is also calculated so that we could obviate the future harvesting of these species for biomass and carbon pool estimation. The information in this book is useful for carbon inventory programs and showing the extent of green house effect mitigation potential and the role of understory, soil, litter and associate species in sequestering carbon.
