Rectal Cancer : The prognostic significance of change of the epidermal growth factor receptor expression in patients with rectal cancer

Bok av Richter Igor
Malignant tumors of the colon and rectum are the most common cancers in developed countries. The incidence of rectal adenocarcinoma represents approximately 30% of this number. A neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by total mesorectal excision is the current standard of the treatment in patients with locally advanced rectal adenocarcinoma. The aim of this retrospective study was to determine the prognostic impact of EGFR expression changes during neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer.
