Handover Management in Mobile Satellite Systems : A theoretical and simulation study

Mobile satellite system (MSS) is gaining importance by integrating with terrestrial communication networks and providing global personal communication services to the users. This book presents the strategies that efficiently allocate the channel resources to the service areas of a MSS during the handover phase. The aim is to improve the service quality by reducing the handover failure rate and drop call rate as a result of insufficient channel resources.
