This textbook details the cardiovascular and autonomic effects of aerobic vs. resistance exercise training on the vessels and autonomic systems. Exercise training responses show favorable adaptations on lowering blood pressure while additional benefits of improved blood flow and greater autonomic control are greater benefits. The benefits of resistance training are also shown to aid individuals with hypertension which have not been previously elucidated.
