Nonlinear Pulse Dynamics and Supercontinuum Generation : A comprehensive study based on modified variational principle

The study provides a comprehensive analytical formalism which explores the nonlinear dynamics that take place during ultrashort pulse propagation inside the waveguides like photonic crystal fiber, silicon on insulator etc. A new form of variational technique is introduced by adopting Rayleigh's dissipation function that can solve different non- conservative problems analytically. Different nonlinear processes that occur during supercontinuum generation are discussed extensively with new insights.
