Inter Basin Water Transfer for Hydro-Electric Power Generation : Example of Applications to the Kainji and Jebba Hydro-power Reservoirs

Bok av Alayande Adegoke Waheed
Drought and increased pressures on the available water resources of the Niger River by the Countries within the basin among other factors are responsible for the low flow situations at Kainji and Jebba hydro-power reservoirs. The low flow situations had impaired generation of the installed capacities at the two power stations. In this book pumped storage systems and water transfer through natural river channels were used to balance water supply and demand for hydro-electric power generation as a long-term and lasting solution to the problem of low water situations at the Kainji-Jebba hydroelectric power stations.
