Ethnographic Study on Childhood Acute Respiratory Illness in Nepal : Study Focusing on Indigenous Tharu Community About Their Cultural Definition and Management of Respiratory Illness

This study is based on qualitative and ethnographic method to explore perception of causes, signs and symptoms, and transmission, prevention and management practices at household, community and health institution level in Tharu Community of Nepal. Data collection techniques included in-depth interview, key informant interview, focus group discussion and observation. Data management was done by transcription, coding and manual analysis. Tharu community is the indigenous ethnic group.The community located in East-West corridor of Southern Nepal. The community has diverse language and customs based on their locations.
