Design and Optimization of the Doherty Power Amplifier for Broadband Applications

The research in this work focuses on systematic design procedures for efficient broadband Doherty power amplifiers. The 2.6 GHz band (2500 - 2690 MHz) is unique so far as it includes a substantial spectrum in all three international Telegraph Union (ITU) regions for terrestrial mobile communications. It is considered as the band most appropriate for 3G/4G wireless communication. Therefore, 2.6 GHz is selected as the center of frequency for the demonstrators developed in this work.
