Factors Influencing Adoptionm of Fuel Efficient Injera Baking Stove : The Case of Agarfa District, Oromia Region, Ethiopia

In developing countries, like Ethiopia, where most of the sources of energy is from biomass, there is reduction in fire wood because of deforestation that baking Injera and other local pancakes on open fire is becoming increasingly expensive. Baking Injera and other local pancakes on open fire is causing injury through burns and many women & children are spending their time to collect firewood to feed their family. Currently, in many parts of the country mirte Fuel Efficient Injera Baking Stove has been increasingly utilized both in rural and urban areas. Utilization of this stove has a paramount importance for reducing deforestation and improving the livelihoods of women and young children. This work focuses on and found out factors influencing adoption of mirte Fuel Efficient Injera Baking Stove by the households and its major limitations. Thus, possible solutions are recommended based on the findings. The recommendations of this work might be applied in different places which have relatively the same socio-cultural situations.
