Bruch Und Ende Im Seriellen Erzahlen: Vom Feuilletonroman Zur Fernsehserie

Bok av Birgit Wagner
Serial narratives never have a final ending: writers, filmmakers and fans may feel stimulated to continue. On the other hand, the apparent continuity of serial narratives is often undermined by rupture. This book pursues the figure of "broken narratives" from the beginning of the feuilleton-novel in the 19th century up to recent TV-series. These ruptures may occur on the level of the narration or in telling about historical ruptures or in performative forms or representation. The principle of seriality, which is characterized by its virtual openness, seems to generate time and again its auto-deconstruction.
