Bioremediation of Sewage Water and Its Impact on Plant Growth : Remediation of waste water using effective bacterial consortium

Bok av Pragati Saini
Bioremediation is a pollution control technology that uses biological system to catalyze the degradation of various toxic forms to less harmful forms. Bioremediation could be employed for the treatment of various effluents. The microbial population has an extensive capacity to degrade a variety of organic compounds. In present study, bioremediation of waste water using effective bacterial consortium, different bacterial cultures were isolated from different water samples, in which some effective bacterial cultures possessed efficiency to reduce the physico-chemical parameters of waste water. The bacterial consortium showed more reduction in the parameters in comparison to single bacterial culture. The strategy of bacterial consortium will also contribute to waste water mineralization efficiency. The findings of this study also indicate that the low concentration of untreated waste water showed the stimulatory effect on seedling growth, plant growth & biochemical analysis of Cicer arietinum, whereas the higher concentration of bacteria consortium treated sewage water sample showed more stimulatory effect.
