Annika Hippler - 405-780 Nanometer

Bok
405-780 nanometers stand close to the exact description of the band of electromagnetic spectrum, which the human eye perceives as beams of light. Light is the artist Annika Hippler's medium of expression. Hippler develops works that are both minimalistic and poetic with laser beams, plastic film, prisms, and pigments. Deliberately, the artist's works go beyond existing physical borders: her installations internalize the aura of the show room such as the compositions of her artworks transcend the canvas' frame. In previous pieces of art - especially dedicated to naturally transient frequencies of light and wave lengths - the artist, citizen of Berlin, managed to establish their visibility. In her latest photograms, the traces of even faded light play a major role.
