Riddles for Charging

Bok
This is one of the most popular comic books for children ever published in Russian. My ten-year-old daughter immediately noticed this book and grabbed it. She was carrying it around the house for days. When we tried to take it away from her, we hid it but she would find it again. We were afraid she would damage it because we knew we would never be able to replace it. Whet made this especially surprising was that nobody in my family reads Russian. So my daughter was just attracted to the drawings, not to the words. Since we could not get it away from her, finally I decided to go with the flow and reprint it. There are references to this comic book all over the Internet, but in Russian. Search and you will immediately find twenty websites referring to it. The book was published in Moscow USSR in 1975. It has sold three hundred thousand copies. It was apparently just a one time only comic book, not a series of comic books. The author seems to have written just this one book. Strange that it was not continued. On the other hand, the Illustrator illustrated many popular books. The illustrator, Herman Ivanovich Ogorodnikov, was born January 8, 1938 in Karlygany Mari El Republic. The attraction to this book are the drawings, not the words. The words do not seem to make especially much sense.
