Despite the abundance of local historians in the second half of the 19th century, all of them described the political history of the country, referring to its military component only in general. The only difficulty was dedicated essay Zotov, 1839, but it was a brief sketch of the military events without a detailed analysis of tactics and strategy, and it was not compiled from original sources, and based on the works of Karamzin, Polevoy, Bulgarin and other historiographers of the period.
