Moscow of Griboyedov

Based on the letters and diaries of Moscow residents in his study, the author gives unsurpassed detail and vividness of the description of the Moscow life of the XIX century. The book is intended as illustrations of historical experience, "Woe from Wit", an attempt to visualize the reality that Griboyedov creatively transformed in his brilliant comedy. The collected material has allowed Gershenzon also spoke about the life of Moscow during the Napoleonic invasion, which is not shown Griboyedov comedy, but the effect is quite noticeable.
