The book is dedicated to one of the most important events of ancient history - the revolt of Spartacus (... 73-71 BCE), the story of which is supported by materials, poorly developed in the Soviet historiography. This is an exciting description of the life and customs of ancient Rome, gladiators position, history of the emergence of gladiatorial games, arising from religious substantially funeral rites and gradually evolved into a kind of cruel, "bloody" sport; a gladiator training methods of the gladiatorial schools, about the kinds of weaponry and rules against the arena, about the architecture of the amphitheater and the barracks of the gladiators place in society.
