Old Believing in Russia (XVII-XX Centuries.). Issue 4

The fourth issue of the collection includes the first published research and materials on literature, history and artistic heritage of the Old Believers XVII-XX centuries. Without exception, all articles are based on new sources identified by the authors in the domestic and foreign manuscript repositories, archives and museums. The material of the collection is grouped in such a way that a number of complex issues gets comprehensive coverage of articles by different authors. We offer our readers the study are not restricted to only the Old Believers' issues, but relate to broader issues, in particular the development of Russian artistic and musical culture of XIX - early XX century. Socio-political life of the country, the events of the Russian-Japanese war of 1904-1905. and post-revolutionary reality, the life and work of Leo Tolstoy and Melnikov Crypt.
