Islamic Philosophy and Philosophical Islamic Studies

Readers are invited to report on the conference "Islamic philosophy and philosophical Islamic Studies: prospects for development." It was held in Moscow in late 2011, and was timed to the release of the second issue of Islamic Philosophy Yearbook "Ishraq". Revised texts of reports compiled this book. Unfortunately, not all participants were able to submit their texts for publication. This disadvantage is partially offset proceedings, including audio recordings, which are available at http: // iph. ras. ru / ishraqconf. htm. This book presents the different traditions of Islamic Studies. We are very pleased to be able to acquaint the reader with the way perceived, evaluated and studied the tradition of Islamic philosophy in the modern Iran: in a collection - articles written by two of the largest Iranian scientists, experts on al-Suhrawardi, and dedicated to the philosophy Ishrakism. We hope that in the future such conferences will become regular, and this collection will be the first in a series of such publications.
